Formed in April 1944 from the division of Seekommandant Dalmatien and subordinate to the Kommandierender Admiral Adria. It was based in Šibenik and the area of command ranged from the island of Susak to Cape Ploča but excluding the islands of Cres and Lošinj. With the collapse of the south eastern front the area south of Zara was abandoned in November 1944. The Marineartillerieabteilungen in Dalmatia were re-organised as Marineschützenbataillone and fought with the XV. Gebirgsarmeekorps around Šibenik and Knin. The staff was dissolved in Bihać in December 1944. The coastal front north of Zara was taken over by Abschnitt Quarnero of Seekommandant Istrien.
