Formed in Nikolayev on 01 February 1942 and subordinate to the Admiral Schwarzes Meer/Kommandierender Admiral Schwarzes Meer. The staff quarters were moved constantly. From Nikolayev to Simferopol, then Yalta, then in December 1942 to Feodosia. In April 1943 it was again moved to Yalta. In November 1943 the Führungsstab was based in Simferopol and the Quartiermeisterstab in Sevastopol. From April 1944 the Führungsstab was moved to Sevastopol, then Fort Maxim Gorki. The command area was the coast of the Crimea, bordering at the Perekop Isthmus. With the advance of German Forces into the occupied Caucasus the Seekommandant gained ports at Temryuk and Taman. In January 1943 this area was made subordinate to Seekommandant 'W'. In December 1942 Seekommandant Ukraine ('V') was dissolved and its command area was passed to the Seekommandant Krim. Between December 1942 and February 1943 the Seekommandant Krim was responsible for the coastal defence of the entire Crimean and Ukrainian coasts as well as the coast around the Sea of Azov. For a short time the command was named Seekommandant Krim-Ukraine. In 1943 and 1944 parts of the command area were ceded to the Seekommandant Ostkrim and Seekommandant Westkrim. From the end of 1943 the Crimea was cut off by the advancing Russians and on 12 May 1944 Sevastopol and the Seekommandant was dissolved.
