Formed in December 1941 from the Marinestoßtruppenabteilung which was affiliated to Abteilung Gläser. The Abteilung was used on the coastal area of north Narva in Estonia, at the Oranienbaum pocket and at Peterhof/St. Petersburg, largely in operations connected with Einsatzabteilung Ostland. Sections of the Abteilung were also temporarily used on Bolshoy Tyuters (German: Groß-Tüters, which is an island in the Gulf of Finland) for infantry defence. It was also employed at Jelgava in Latvia for a short time and in September 1944 in Landoperation Hochland and in the battle to Sõrve, a small village in Estonia. The Abteilung was subordinate to Marinebefehlshaber D, then to the Kommandierender Admiral Ostland. The Abteilung retreated to the Baltic Islands after the fighting at Sõrve (Sworbe) under the Seekommandant Baltische Inseln. In November 1944 it was dissolved with the remnants of the Abteilung being moved to Gotenhafen and Stettin.
