The SS-Polizei Regiment 24 was formed in July 1942 in Lvov from Polizei-Regiment Radom.

III/SS-Polizei Regiment 24 was stationed in Slovenia before transferring to France where it became a part of SS-Polizei Regiment 14. The rest of the regiment was used in anti-partisan operations on the Eastern front before being used as front-line troops at the end of the war.
