The 27. Infantry Division was formed 10 October from 27 Light Division with the addition of manpower from the Szekler Militia. It surrendered to the Soviet forces near Vienna in May 1945.

This division is sometimes listed as 27. Székler Division, Székler refers to the Székely or Szekler people, ethnic Hungarians living in eastern Transylvania.
