Reconnaissance, Bombers, Maritime, Transports & Trainers
Ken Merrick
review-5

This is the second and last volume in a series covering the camouflage and markings of the Luftwaffe in detail.

This volume covers:
Code systems and markings
Night fighters
Ground attack aircraft
Reconnaissance aircraft
Bombers
Maritime aircraft
Transports
Training, liaison and light aircraft

Appendices:
Paint technology
External stores
Maintenance and safety markings
Werknummern
Balkenkreuz and hakenkreuz

Also included are two facsimiles of the original colour chip cards prepared by the German Air Ministry that no doubt will be very useful to Luftwaffe modellers.
It contains a very large number of high quality photos, primarily of course in black and white but it does also include many very nice colour photos.
The text in the book is very detailed and the arguments presented are as far as I can see well supported by period documentation.

The one thing I dislike about the book is the lack on index which of course makes it harder for the reader to find what he/she is looking for.

This is a highly detailed reference book highly recommended for modellers and anyone else with a serious interest in the topic. It is sure to be a classic in its field!
