This remains a “mystery” unit because only a single reference to it has been found. On 2 August 1941 one of the Battalion’s companies was identified in Prijedor operating under the provisional Sanski Brigade. Rather than being a completely separate unit, it is suspected that it may have been one of the regular battalions from the 1st or 2d Infantry Regiment, but which one is not known.
