Formed in Holland in June 1940 as the Marinebaubataillon 313, renamed Marinefestungspionierbataillon 313 in 1942. It was subordinate to the Marinebefehlshaber in den Niederlande, then to the Kommandierender Admiral in den Niederlanden. In June 1943 the Bataillon was moved to the south east theatre under the Deutsches Marinekommando Italien. From November 1943 it moved from Belgrade to Triest in Italy. It was dissolved in November 1944.
