Formed in October 1941 in Gotenhafen in West Prussia. In January 1942 the Abteilung was shifted to Norway and stationed in Narvik-Bogen Bay in the County of Nordland in Northern Norway. It was subhordinate to the Seekommandant Narvik, then to the 30. Marineflakregiment. In April 1943 it was moved to Altafjorden in the County of Finnmark, Northern Norway. The Abteilung remained subordinate to the 30. Marineflakregiment until March 1944. From then it was subordinate to the Seekommandant Hammerfest for disciplinary matters and tactically subordinate to the Kommandanten Altafjord. In October/November 1944 it was moved again to Bogen Bay in the Oftfjord under Seekommandant Tromsö. The Abteilung controlled the Flakartillerie-Kreuzer 'Nymphe'.
