The Kriegsmarinedienststelle was responsible for the supply of auxiliary ships, the preparation and development of troop and supply transport and the allocation of auxiliary ships and their personnel. It had a Zweigstelle in Pillau. The office was subordinate to OKM for technical matters and to the Marineoberkommando Ostsee for everything else. It was dissolved in March 1940 with its tasks taken over by the Kriegsmarinedienststelle Danzig with a Zweigstelle set up in Königsberg.
