Formed in Danzig in November 1939 and was the first Uboote training flotilla. It moved bases several times throughout the war. First it moved to Danzig to Memel, then between June and September 1941 it was based at Trondheim. Towards the end of the war it moved to Gotenhafen and then lastly to Eckernförde. When it was formed it was originally called Unterseebootsausbildungsflottille, then in April 1940 it was renamed 1. Unterseebootsausbildungsflottille & finally from July 1940, 24. Unterseebootsflottille. The Flotilla was responsible for commandant firing training and then underwater positional training. It was dissolved in March 1945.
