Formed in December 1943 in the Channel and subordinate to the 2. Sicherungsdivision. After the Allied invasion of France the Flotilla was moved, with 5. Sicherungsdivision, to the German Bight, for operations in the Baltic. Until the wars end the Flotilla was employed in Danish waters.

After the war the Flotilla was employed in mine clearing duties in the area of Denmark until the summer of 1946.
