Active at the start of the war and between 1939 and April 1940 was used for mine sweeping tasks in the North Sea. With the Operations against Norway it was used with Kriegsschiffgruppe 10 (Esbjerg, Nordby & Fanø). In the Western Campaign the Flotilla was moved to the Netherlands area, then employed in the Channel, with its HQ at Dunkirk. The Flotilla was dissolved soon after the Allied invasion of France on 15 August 1944.
