Formed in April 1940 with the occupation of Denmark and based in Esbjerg in South Denmark. Its area of control was the west coast of Denmark from the Reichs border to the Limfjord, but excluded the island of Roam (which was controlled by Abschnitt Sylt). In the north the area of Søndervig was ceded to Nordjütland in the second half of the war. In April 1944 the Danish area was re-organised and this command was re-designated Seekommandant Südjütland.
