Formed in September 1943 after Italy exited the war and subordinate to the Deutsches Marinekommando Italien then Marineoberkommando Süd. It was installed for the defence of the Italian Adriatic coast to the mouth of the Tagliamento (bordering the other side of the river was the Kommandierender Admiral Adria/Seekommandant Istrien). Following the retreat of the German frontline, the southern area of the command was gradually lost. The staff quarters were at Lido by Venice then the city of Venice itself from. From March 1944 it was moved to Treviso then finally in April 1945 it was moved to Feltre.
