Luftwaffe Obergefreiter Tunic (Flying)
This Luftwaffe open collar style blue-gray wool tunic with 4-button front, four pleated patch pockets with buttoned flaps, and French cuffs represents an Obergefreiter of Flight. The yellow insignia was representative of flight personnel including pilots, flight crews and Fallschirmjager (paratroopers). The insignia includes early (1936-38) drooped-tail machine-embroidered Luftwaffe breast eagle, twin pair of yellow collar tabs each with three metal 'gull' pips, two silver-matt chevrons on blue-gray triangle background on the sleeve and twin slip on shoulder straps with yellow piping. Loops for one badge: Luftwaffe Ground Assault. The Luftwaffe enlisted service cap is also piped in matching yellow with aluminum insignia. This cap is tailor-made and named to the original owner. A brown leather belt and aluminum Luftwaffe enlisted buckle completes the display.
