by H.L. deZeng IV

Ordered formed on 8 June 1942 in Ruma/Syrmia with 124 Croatian Volksdeutsche volunteers and attached to 1.Kp/Landesschützen-Btl., a unit of the German Army, for training and employment. As soon as the training was completed around 15 June, it was to be used exclusively to guard the large munitions and fuel dump at Vrdnik near Ruma. Service in Volunteer Co. Ruma (Freiwillige-Kp. Ruma) was to count toward service in the Croatian armed forces. This unit is not mentioned again in the surviving documents, so it apparently did not exist for very long and was probably absorbed into one of the ES der DM battalions. (1)
