(Luftwaffe Medical Platoon (motorized))
by Henry L. deZeng IV

The function and composition of these platoons has not been found in the surviving documents but they may have been used to reinforce the casualty handling and  medical treatment capabilities of the Lw.-Sanitätsbereitschaften where needed. Nearly all of them received independent Feldpost numbers and the total number formed was approximately 22. A list dated 5 October 1944 shows 19 of them still in existence and another list from April 1945 has 18 of them.

KStN: 5493 (L) and 5402 (L).
