Hitlerjugend: An In-Depth History: HJ-Spielschar
by Arvo L. Vercamer

Individuals who wished to pursue a career in the theater business were encouraged to join Spielscharen - acting companies. Its members entertained both their own as well as other HJ units with stage performances as applicable. In addition, performances were also given to the general public, some even had their plays broadcast over the radio. As a general rule, either German classic plays were performed or presentations as approved by the HJ leadership and the German Nationalist Socialist Workers Party.
