No Waffen-SS unit fought in North Africa, however there were other SS troops stationed there, namely the SD Einsatz-Kommando Tunis, formed in 1942 and disbanded in 1943. It was responsible for combatting spies, black marketeers and other such elements as well as inspecting the French police forces in Tunisia.
