The Galizisches SS Freiwilligen Regiment 8 (Polizei) was formed in January 1944 from the men of Galizische SS Freiwilligen Regiment 6 (Polizei) and Galizische SS Freiwilligen Regiment 7 (Polizei) not suitable for Waffen-SS service.
