The SS-Polizei Regiment 3 was formed in July 1942 in the Netherlands. I/SS-Polizei Regiment 3 was sent to Serbia were it was used to form SS-Polizei Regiment 5 and this was replaced by I/SS-Polizei Regiment 16.
This unit was stationed in the Netherlands during its whole existence.
