Nothing is known about these prisons other than one existed in Nevesinje, Nova Gradiška, Osijek and Zagreb. No doubt there were garrison prisons in other cities and towns, too. They came under the local garrison command and are believed to have been run by the military police detachment assigned to the garrison commands for the purpose of short duration confinement of Croatian soldiers sentenced for minor infractions of the rules.
