Early Aug.1944..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236 arrives at Jassy in the Armee-Group “ Woehler”, Heeresgruppe Sudukraine, sector of the front.
2 Sep.1944..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236 was shattered during the bitter fighting at Jassy to repel the attacking Soviet Second Ukrainian Front which had been poised just to the north of the city prior to their invasion of Rumania on 20 Aug.1944 (“Black Sunday”.
6 Oct.1944..... H-Stu.Gesch.Bde.236 was reformed, at the Posen Truppenübungsplatz, from the survivors of the old brigade, plus reinforcements in men and equipment. It is uncertain if the Begleit-Batterie was reformed at this time.

Armee, and destroying most of Stu.Gesch.Bde.239 in the process. Only 3.Bttr./Stu.Gesch.Bde.239 is able to remain together as a fighting unit and quickly absorbs remnants of the shattered H-Sturmartilleri-Bde.236.
