299. Infanterie-Division

The 299. Infanterie-Division was formed near Erfurt in February 1940 as part of the 8. Welle (wave). It was destroyed on the Eastern Front in July 1944. The division staff formed the staff of Korps-Abteilung G, which also included Divisions-Gruppe 299 formed from the division’s surviving elements.
The division was reformed on 1 September 1944 from Korps-Abteilung G and was destroyed in March 1945 in the Heiligenbeil pocket, East Prussia. The division staff formed the staff of the Reichsarbeitdienst-Division 1 (Infanterie-Division Schlageter).
