The LVII Panzerkorps was formed from LVII Armeekorps in June 1942 and fought at Rostov and later in the Caucasus. It fought southwest of Stalingrad and later withdrew across the Don and fought at the Donets and later a Kursk. It withdrew to the Romanian border before being attached to the 3rd Hungarian Army and transferred to southern Hungary. It fought in the battle for Budapest and ended the war in Silesia.
