The Schnelle Division ("Fast Division") was formed by combining all the cavalry and armor of the Austrian army.
The Panzerwagen-Bataillon contained one Panzerwagenkompanie and four Kleinkampfwagenkompanie. The former contained 12 Steyr ADGZ wheeled tanks and the latter contained a total of 72 Fiat Ansaldo tankettes.

Following the Anschluss when Austria became a part of Germany it was used to form 4. Leichte-Division and Kavallerie-Regiment 11.
