Part of the Anti-Partisan Operations in Croatia series by H.L. deZeng IV

Dates: 25 – 27 November 1943. (1)

Objective: To annihilate the Partisan supply base in and around the Krbavsko Polje (plain) between Gospić and Udbina, and in doing so destroy the ability of the Partisans in this area to threaten the vital Bihać – Knin supply road.

Enemy Forces: Undetermined.

Axis Forces:
German
114. Jäger-Division (main body)
Two (2) reinforced battalions from the 373. Infanterie-Div. (kroat.)
Croatian
One (1) Ustasha battalion from the IV Ustasha Brigade

Conduct of Operations and Results: There is no after-action report for this operation, nor any mention of it in the postwar Yugoslav literature, which suggests that it was either uneventful or cancelled. A single line in a German history of the 373. Inf.Div. (kroat.) simply confirms that elements of the Division was engaged in operations along the Bihać – Knin road between 14 and 29 November.
