The SS-Jagdverband Nordwest was formed as SS-Jäger-Bataillon Nordwest from the Brandenburg unit Streifkorps Nordfrankreich when it was transferred to the Waffen-SS in September 1944.

It was sent to the Eastern front January 1945 and fought in Nipperwiese on the Oder until March 1945, when it was removed from the front. It was however soon fighting the Red Army again when their offensive started April 1945.
