The SS-Festungs-Grenadier-Regiment Besslein was an ad-hoc unit raised in February 1945 for the defense of Breslau.
It proved to be a fine unit in the savage fighting in Breslau but surrendered with the rest of the troops in Festung Breslau in the closing days of the war.
