-- [no proof in the BA files ; the deed took place in march '45 in Pomerania with HGr. Weichsel according to the author Krätschmer ; in the work of von Seemen G. is mentioned with a footnote [translated] : "source: Genmaj (Pol.) Rode, at that time "Chef des Kdo.-Stabes bei Chef der Dt. Polizei" ; this office is not known for sure and not to confirm ; in fact a SS-Brigfü. u. Genmaj. d. Polizei Rode was -> Chef des Stabes der Feld-Kdo.-Stelle des RF-SS ; this office was the command level for the official proposals to be handled for the final approval by Himmler ; those proposals were treated there by SS-Ostubaf. Kment, Adjutant of Himmler and liaison officer [Verbindungsoffizier] to the HPA ; after all this award could be regarded as a direct award by Himmler based on his position as OB HGr. Weichsel - but he had no authorization to do that and therefore the judgement would have to be that of an illegal award ; the case was treated by the OdR Ordenskommission in 1977 and it was decided : "RK ja, 31.3.1945" ; it is not known until today on base of which proofs/arguments because insight to the file was rejected due to the Bundesarchivgesetz regulations ["30-year-rule", that is files open 30 years after the death of the person ; here -> Jan 2009 ! /by Bernd R] ; the award date was changed by Fellgiebel later]
