The 52. Semi-Motorized Division Torino was raised June 1940 from the Torino Brigade. It took part in the invasion of Yugoslavia and after rebuilding it was sent to the Eastern Front. It sufffered heavy losses in the Soviet offensive during the winter of 1942/43 and was destroyed in March 1943.
The surviving elements were disbanded in Italy in September.
