The 60. Infantry Division Sabratha was mobilized in October 1939 for service in Libya. It took part in the invasion of Egypt in September 1940 and was destroyed near Derna in December. It was reformed early 1941 and was destroyed during rearguard actions following the battle of El Alamein.
