44. Infantry Division Cremona was mobilized in October 1939 and took part in the attack against France, in March 1941 it was transferred to Sardinia. In March 1943 it took part in the iccupation of Corsica and remained there as an occupation force until October 1943 when it surrendered to the Allies.
