The 15. Infantry Division Bergamo was mobilized in June 1940 and took part in the invasion of Yugoslavia. After the invasion it was stationed in Dalmatia.
In September 1943 it resisted the German forces but was defeated. After the defeat soldiers from the divisions were exectued by German forces under the control of XV Gebirgs-Armeekorps and others joined the Yugoslavian partisans.

This unit took part in anti-partisan operations in Croatia.
